ABOUT ME AND THE DEVIL

Me and the Devil follows the character, Glen, and his quest for vengeance in the aftermath of Ruin. You cannot read Me and the Devil as a stand-alone. Me and the Devil follows Glen’s journey through grief, vengeance, guilt and self-recrimination, and acknowledgment.

If you believe you might be negatively affected by violence or flashbacks of childhood trauma of any kind, it’s best if you avoid this book.

This fictional story is recommended for mature adults who are familiar with the author’s writing style and the RUIN novel. Please keep in mind that many parts of this story, particularly the flashbacks, are based on real-life instances of child abuse. While there is NO detailed on page CSA (child sexual abuse), there are multiple non-detailed flashbacks from the point of view of children and adults.

Sex as a coping mechanism / trauma response

In parts of the story, characters engage in sexual activity that can be considered ‘unhealthy’ or ‘abnormal’. Please remember that although this is fiction, parts are based on actual experiences of survivors of child sexual abuse and trauma. Not everyone deals with their trauma in the same way.

This book is NOT A HOW TO GUIDE ON DEALING WITH TRAUMA.

A note about psychosis:

Chapter Thirty-Six of this story is from the point of view of a character experiencing symptoms of psychosis. Please keep in mind that not all experiences of psychosis are the same. While this scene is based on actual life experience, it has been written in a way that makes this fictional character appear more cognisant than one may normally be during psychosis.
